Greetings from Pangman, Saskatchewan; June 6

Another post with no pictures only because I'm in the one-room, public library in this most unique town; no wireless, so I can't put my pictures up on the blog. Will have to wait.
This town of 230 folks, has no paved roads; very friendly.
For those techie smart folks (Kevin...), our geographic location is -104 degrees 31'49" by 50 degrees 42' 41".
We are camped behind the "Activity Center" which is an overgrown area that they just mowed. doesn't look like anyone has used the place in years! I'll take pictures on the way walking back to camp and post them tomorrow...or whenever my next internet access is.
Now, to share about today. It rained, rained and rained some more ALL day; and not just a sprinkle...it was hard rain! (started in the middle of the night) FINALLY, we drove out of it about an hour ago and it is positively beautiful out. Thank God we have rain suits....because we used them a lot today.
The drive along hwy 13 over here was long and flat. (we are just about 65 mi. straight south of Regina, Saskatchewan.) About all we saw were oil wells, cattle, farming, and farms. But strangely, when there were clusters of farming buildings, there seldom seemed to be houses with it.
We have made up our minds that whenever we see a "point of interest" sign, we will be turning over and stopping. We stopped by a gravestone which was set in memory of all abortion victims. Hwy 13 is also the "Red Coat Hwy", and comming out of Redvers we saw a HUGE horse with a Red Coated person on it. Come to find out that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police used to be called the Northwest Mounted Police. That was who was on top of this huge horse. This road was apparently the path (and also) the railroad that they took to a Fort to the west of here. The railroad is now owned by the farmers in this area and the cars (used for grain and other farm stuff) are now pushed up and down the railroad by a truck! They let the air out of the tires and then get on the tracks and push the railroad cars. Imagine that! You cannot make this stuff up!
And, since I'm sitting here in this little library, I just heard that they are getting a new priest here....but he covers about 6 different small towns like this. They only have Mass every other week; lay service on the alternate week. She says that they always get the young priests, because it takes the young ones to keep up with the pace of getting to all the outlying parishes. Wow. Wish I would be here this Sunday.
I took notes in the little journal in the car...but didn't bring that with me when Chris dropped me off at this library. So, that's all I can think of now. Signing off until next time....
